Report a bug or request a feature

Found something broken? Have an idea that would make Identity Atlas better? You don't need to be a developer to tell us — this page walks you through it.

Everything happens on our issue tracker on GitHub. An "issue" is just a message with a title and a description. Creating one is free; you only need a GitHub account (also free).

How support works here

Identity Atlas is free and open source. Bugs and feature requests are handled best effort, in the open on the tracker — there's no ticket queue and no guaranteed response time. We read everything and prioritise what helps the most people. If best effort isn't enough for your organisation, see Need guaranteed support or priority features? at the bottom of this page.

In a hurry?

Jump straight to Open a new issue and pick Bug report or Feature request.

Before you start: search first

Someone may have already reported the same thing. A quick search saves everyone time and means you can add your voice (a 👍 or a comment) to an existing report instead of opening a duplicate.

  1. Go to the issue list .
  2. Type a few keywords in the search box (e.g. "export" or "login").
  3. If you find a match, open it and add a comment or a 👍 reaction. Done!

If nothing matches, carry on and open a new one.

Reporting a bug

A bug is something that behaves differently from what you'd expect — an error message, a button that does nothing, wrong numbers on a page.

  1. Open New issue → Bug report .
  2. The form already lists the details that help us the most. Fill in what you can — anything is better than nothing:
    • What happened and what you expected to happen instead.
    • Steps to reproduce — how do we make it happen again?
    • Screenshots — paste or drag an image straight into the box.
    • Your version — the number shown on the dashboard's Version card (e.g. v5.65.20260602.1825) and whether you run the edge or latest image.
  3. Click Submit new issue.

Not sure how to reproduce it?

That's fine — file it anyway and describe what you saw. A partial report is still useful.

Requesting a feature

A feature request is any idea for something new or improved — a new column, a different export format, a whole new data source.

  1. Open New issue → Feature request .
  2. Tell us:
    • The problem you're trying to solve ("I can't easily see who owns…").
    • The solution you'd like.
    • Alternatives you've thought about, if any.
  3. Click Submit new issue.

Describing the problem rather than only the solution helps us find the best fix — sometimes there's an easier route to what you need.

What happens next

  • You'll get email notifications when someone replies (you can turn these off).
  • We may ask follow-up questions — keep an eye on the issue.
  • When the work ships, the issue is closed and the change appears in the release notes.

Want to help fix it yourself? See Contribute a change.

Need guaranteed support or priority features?

We'll be honest: the community tracker above is best effort. There's no service-level agreement, and no promise of when — or whether — a given bug or feature gets picked up.

If that isn't enough for your organisation, we offer paid options for both:

  • Support with an SLA — guaranteed response times and hands-on help.
  • Priority feature development — sponsor a feature you need and have it built and maintained on a committed timeline.

Tell us what you need at support@identityatlas.io.
